MCA Student Union Commits to Enhancing Student Welfare

The Malawi College of Accountancy newly elected student union says it is geared to improve the welfare of fellow students by championing mental health support and collaboration with faculty and staff to develop student centered policies and initiatives among others.

The union’s president, Emmanuel Makonyola made the remarks recently adding that other top priorities for the union is to foster a vibrant and inclusive campus community by hosting diverse events and improving campus facilities.

“Our top priorities will dwell on academic support, campus life, and student wellbeing. We will maintain an open-door policy allowing students to meet us and share concerns. We will also institute a student led accountability committee to oversee our actions,” he said.

Commenting on the same, the Union’s General Secretary, Chantelle Chituta said they are also set to engage management on creating an emergency fund to support struggling students.
