Institutions Urged to Lead in Combating Corruption
Acting Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) Director General, Gabriel Chembezi has urged Public institutions in Blantyre to take a lead in combating corruption, saying it should not rest with the ACB alone.
Chembezi made the remarks at Lunzu Catholic Primary School ground on Friday during the Joint Institutional Integrity Committees Anti-Corruption Awareness Campaign, held under the theme "Integrity in Public Service: Our Collective Duty."
"Today's theme reminds us that preventing corruption is not the duty of ACB alone; it is a collective effort. As public servants, we work on trust and integrity should be at heart when executing our duties to ensure development in the country," he said.
He urged institutions to continue embracing and supporting their Institutional Integrity Commitees (IICs), saying the committees are doing a tremendous work in curbing corruption.
In his remarks, Malawi College of Accountancy (MCA) Internal Auditor, Danford Kululanga said the institution remains committed to fighting corruption at all levels in the institution.
